Paularo (Friulian: Paulâr ) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 110 kilometres (68 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Udine, on the border with Austria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,897 and an area of 84.3 square kilometres (32.5 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Paularo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Casaso, Dierico, Misincinis, Salino, Ravinis, Chiaulis, Castoia, Villamezzo, Villafuori, Rio, Cogliat, Lambrugno, Tavella, and Trelli.
