Palomino rabbit

A palomino rabbit.

The Palomino rabbit is a breed of rabbit, normally 8-12 pounds in weight, which is generally colored gold or lynx. It was first bred in Washington State, United States, by Mark Youngs, who wanted to make a ''new'' breed of rabbit. As with the palomino horse, the rabbit gets its name from its color,[1][2]

Creation

The Palomino rabbit was created by Mark Youngs, in Washington State, United States. They were first presented in 1952 at the American Rabbit Breeders Association's national convention. The name "Palomino" was adopted in 1953, and in the 1960s Palominos became more common.[3]
