Palagonia (Sicilian: Palagunìa, Latin: Palica) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Catania in the Italian region Sicily, located about 150 kilometres (93 mi) southeast of Palermo and about 35 kilometres (22 mi) southwest of Catania. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 16,402 and an area of 57.7 square kilometres (22.3 sq mi).[1]
Palagonia borders the following municipalities: Lentini, Militello in Val di Catania, Mineo, Ramacca.
