Old-Lady-Grieves-the-Enemy

Old-Lady-Grieves-The-Enemy was a Pawnee woman who gained her name in the 19th century. Her village was attacked by the Ponca and Sioux, and the men tried to run away. At this point she grabbed a war club and attacked the enemy, thus shaming the men and causing them to take action.[1]
