Oeonistis altica is a member of Arctiidae family. It is found in south-east Asia, including China, Hong Kong, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, northern India, the Philippines, Taiwan as well as in Australia in Queensland.[1]
Adults are deep yellow, with black markings on the forewings.
The larvae feed lichen, and possibly also on Flacourtia and Ficus species. They are pale grey with a black stripe along the back and hairy.
