Virajini Lalithya de Silva, also known as Nirosha Virajini (Sinhala: නිරෝෂා විරාජිනී) (born 13 January 1973) is a Sri Lankan award winning singer,[3] musician and music director with a career spanning over 23 years. She has sung songs in Sinhalese, Tamil, English, Hindi, Malayalam and Japanese. Virajini is a native speaker of Sinhalese, but was named a super-grade singer in Tamil by the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, vetted by a panel of Indian and Australian musicologists and is the only Sri Lankan Sinhalese singer to receive the award. In 2000 and 2002 she was awarded as Best Female Vocalist at President's Award and Sarasaviya Awards for her contribution as a playback singer of the films "Rajya Sevaya Pinisai" and "Kinihiriya Mal" respectively.[4]
