Nipigon is an impact crater on Mars, located in the Arcadia quadrangle just North-East of the volcano Uranius Patera. The crater is 9.3 kilometers (5.8 mi) in diameter.[2] The crater was named in 1991 after the Canadian town of Nipigon, Ontario.[2] It is also worthy to note that the location of Nipigon crater (33.7ºN 81.9ºW) in Latitude and Longitude on Mars is close to that of Nipigon, Ontario (49°00′N 88°25′W) on Earth.
