Neville Leigh
Sir Neville Egerton Leigh KCVO (4 June 1922 – 1994) was a British civil servant.
He was the son of Cecil Egerton Leigh and Gladys Durrell Barnes, and he was educated at Charterhouse School.
During the Second World War he served in the Royal Air Force, and was granted a commission in the Secretarial Branch in 1951.[1][2] He was made Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in 1967.[3] Leigh served as Clerk of the Privy Council between 1974 and 1984. He was knighted as Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in the 1980 Birthday Honours.[4]
Leigh married Denise Branch, daughter of Colonel Cyril Denzil Branch, on 20 May 1944. Together they had two sons, one of whom is the Conservative MP Sir Edward Leigh.
