Neha Ahuja
Neha Ahuja is the first Indian woman in the history of India to qualify for the Winter Olympics, and the first Indian to be competing in the Giant Slalom and Slalom alpine skiing finals. Daughter of an Indian Border Security Officer, Comdt. S. P Ahuja, Principal of Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering and Director of Winter Sports, she was one of the four Indians competing at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Her sister Shefali Ahuja represented India in the 3rd Winter Asian games held in Harbin, China. Neha's younger sister, Swati Ahuja participated the fourth season of MTV Roadies.
Per Winter Olympic records, the first Indian Alpine Skiing participation is in 1964. Since then, 8 athletes (6 men and 2 women) have competed in 5 Winter Games.
The first Indian man in Winter Olympics is Jeremy Bujakowski [1] at Innsbruck in 1964 in Alpine Skiing/Men's Downhill and the first Indian woman in Winter Olympics is Shailaja Kumar at Calgary in 1988 in Alpine Skiing/Women's Slalom.
