Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools covers a 591-square-mile (1,530 km2) area covering all of Nash and part of Edgecombe counties.
The current superintendent is Dr. Shelton Jefferies. He has a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from East Stroudsburg University. He has both a master’s degree in Elementary Education and an education specialist’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Converse College.
History
Rocky Mount City Schools merged with the Nash County Schools in 1992. Southern Nash High School took the place of Spring Hope High,Coopers High 1-12,Bailey High,and Middlesex High.
