NICE Ltd.[3] (Hebrew: נייס מערכות) is an Israel-based company, specialising in telephone voice recording, data security, and surveillance, as well as systems that analyse this recorded data.[4]
The company serves various industries, such as financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, outsourcers, retail, media, travel, service providers, and utilities.
The company’s shares are traded on NASDAQ [5] as well as on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange; where it is part of the TA-25 Index.[6]
Barak Eilam became CEO in April 2014, replacing Zeevi Bregman. Eilam previously headed the company's Americas division.[7][8] As of December 31, 2015 the company had more than 4,122 employees.[9]
History
NICE was founded in 1986 as Neptune Intelligence Computer Engineering (NICE) by 7 Israeli former army colleagues. The company initially focused on developing technology for security and defense applications, but soon refocused their efforts on civilian applications, mainly for contact center, financial services and business intelligence markets. The company crossed US$350 million in bookings in 2005.[10]
Acquisitions
NICE acquisition include:
- July 31, 2002: acquired Thales Contact Solutions (previously Racal Recorders) in the UK for $53 million, from the Thales Group.[11]
- June 1, 2005: acquired Dictaphone's Communications Recording Systems assets for $42 million.[12]
- September 1, 2005: acquired Hannamax Hi-Tech for $3 million.[13]
- January 4, 2006: acquired FAST Video Security for $33 million.
- May 22, 2006: acquired Performix for $14 million.
- July 7, 2006: acquired IEX Corporation for $205 million, adding contact center workforce management and performance optimization products.
- August 30, 2007: acquired Actimize for $281 million, entering the fraud prevention, anti-money laundering and risk management markets.[14]
- April 8, 2008: acquired Quality Plus Group for $12 million.
- August 31, 2009: acquired Hexagon System Engineering Ltd. for $11 million.[15]
- September 1, 2009: Actimize acquired Fortent for $73 million.[16]
- June 9, 2010: acquired Eglue for $29 million.[17]
- February 15, 2011: acquired CyberTech International for $60 million.[18]
- September 19, 2011: acquired Fizzback for $80 million.
- December 2, 2011: acquired Merced Systems for $150 milllion.[19]
- October 22, 2012: acquired Redkite Financial Markets, which developed real-time, cloud-based institutional trade surveillance technology.
- August 7, 2013: acquired Causata.[20]
- January 11, 2016: acquired Nexidia for $135 million in cash.[21]
- May 18, 2016: acquired inContact Software Group for $940 million.[22]
