MyRepublic Limited, is an internet service provider in Singapore, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Australia. It is the fourth broadband service provider in Singapore.

MyRepublic was founded in 2011 by Malcolm Rodrigues, a former Vice President of StarHub International and Wholesale; KC Lai, a former StarHub Senior VP of Consumer Sales; and Greg Mittman, previously a lead of Alcatel-Lucent's National Broadband Network Team.[1]

According to International Data Corporation (IDC) as of October 2014, MyRepublic had a 5% share of the Singapore broadband market, as compared to Singtel (41%), StarHub (32%) and M1 Limited (18%).[2]

On 12 October 2014, MyRepublic launched its free 3-month fibre broadband trial in New Zealand.[3]

Internet services

In 2011, MyRepublic launched its fibre broadband 100 Mbit/s no-frills plan in Singapore.

In 2014, MyRepublic launched its services in the New Zealand market, making effort to provide fibre services of at least 100 Mbit/s to the residential and business sector with no data limits.[4]

As of 2015, MyRepublic offers internet speeds of 200 Mbit/s – 1 Gbit/s to residential customers and 100 Mbit/s – 1 Gbit/s to corporate customers[5] in Singapore.

History

In February 2012, StarHub entered into a dispute with MyRepublic, after MyRepublic claimed that StarHub was discouraging its consumers to move to the Next-Gen NBN.[6]

In 2013 MyRepublic introduced business plans in Singapore.[7]

In 2014 MyRepublic raised $24 million in funding from Sunshine Network and $10 million from French billionaire Xavier Niel [8]

In 2015 Ex-P1 CEO Michael Lai joins Singapore’s upstart telco MyRepublic[9] Also in 2015 MyRepublic launched fibre service in Indonesia[10]

On November 15, 2016, MyRepublic began offering service to Australia.[11]
