Mississippi Highway 364 runs east–west from Booneville, Mississippi to Mississippi Highway 25 south of Iuka, Mississippi.

History

The gravel road that became part of MS 364 has existed since 1928.[4] In 1936, the road was designated as part of MS 30.[5][6] By 1941, MS 30 was rerouted to a road south of it, and its old alignment was renumbered to MS 32.[7][8] In 1942, the designations were reversed, with MS 30 on the northern route, and MS 32 on the southern one.[8][9] The next year, MS 30's designation was reverted to the ones in 1941, while MS 32's designation was removed.[9][10] In 1950, MS 364 was created, connecting from MS 365 to MS 25.[11][12] By 1958, MS 364 was paved from MS 25 to Holcut.[13][14] Two years later, the route was extended from MS 365 to MS 30, just east of Booneville. The segment was paved in gravel. Also in 1960, all of MS 364 east of MS 365 was paved.[14][15] By 1974, a small segment east of MS 365 was realigned northward.[16][17] Three years later, a small section of MS 364 from MS 30 to an unnumbered road was paved.[18][19] All of MS 364 became paved by 1984. A small part of the route was removed east of MS 364,[20][21] as the Tennessee–Tombigbee Waterway was constructed through it in 1985, leaving MS 364 in two sections.[21][22] The short segment east of MS 365 was removed from the state highway system in 1994.[23][24] The route was realigned northward west of MS 365 two years later.[24][25]
