Mike Sares

Mike Sares is an American pastor, author, and religious speaker. He co-founded Scum of the Earth Church in Denver, Coloradoin 2000, alongside Reese Roper and band mates of Five Iron Frenzy. He has been the founding pastor at Scum and currently fills the role of senior pastor alongside Jesse Heilmann and Fran Blomberg. Mike is married to Mary Sares and they have four grown children, Katina, Sophia, Luke and Ethan. Mike follows Christ and works at Scum because he has known no other love that is so complete and perfect.

Pure Scum

Mike's first book, Pure Scum: The Left-Out, the Right-Brained and the Grace of God, was published in March 2010 by InterVarsity Press. The foreword is written by Reese Roper. It is currently finishing out its first printing.
