Matthew Bates Merullo (born August 4, 1965) is a retired professional baseball player. He played all or part of six seasons in Major League Baseball from 1989–95, primarily as a catcher.
Playing career
Merullo was drafted out of the University of North Carolina by the White Sox in 1986. He made his major league debut on April 12, 1989 and final game for the Minnesota Twins in 1995.
Personal life
Born in Winchester, Massachusetts, he is the grandson of Major League Baseball player Lennie Merullo. He currently lives in Madison, Connecticut.
