Mark Waite is a retired English association football midfielder who has spent his entire playing and coaching career in the United States. He is the son of John Waite.[1]

Player

Waite attended Lock Haven University, playing on the men’s soccer team from 1990 to 1993. He was a 1992 NCAA Division II First Team All American and holds the school’s career goals record with fifty-seven and the career assists record with thirty-three.[2] Waite graduated in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in health science. That year, he turned professional with the Hampton Roads Mariners of the USISL. In 1997, the Mariners went on hiatus and Waite moved to the Hershey Wildcats in the A-League.

Coach

Waite began his coaching career while still playing. In 1994 and 1995, he was an assistant coach at Virginia Wesleyan College. He then spent two seasons as an assistant at Bloomsburg University before moving to Old Dominion University in 1998. In January 2010, he resigned his position to become a youth coach.
