Marionfyfea is a genus of land planarians from Antarctic Islands off New Zealand.[1] However, a species has been described from specimens found in Europe, probaby introduced.[2]

Etymology

According to Leigh Winsor (2006, 2011),[1][3] the name Marionfyfea honors Marion Fyfe (1894–1986), for "her pioneering taxonomic anatomical work on the Terricola of New Zealand". The genus was first described as Fyfea Winsor 2006,[1] which was preoccupied, then changed to Marionfyfea Winsor, 2011.[3]
