The Marble slab of Pharasmanes (Georgian: ფარსმანის მარმარილოს ფილა) is a fragmentary marble slab of Fasti Ostienses with Latin inscriptions found in Ostia Antica, near Ancient Rome.[1] The slab inscription memorialises a state visit of King Pharasmanes II of Iberia[2] to Rome with his son and wife upon invitation of Emperor Antoninus Pius,[3][4][5] the visit also recorded into the History of Rome by Cassius Dio.[6] The inscription is dated 141-144[3] or 142 AD,[5] though recently it's more firmly dated to 141 AD to the consulship of namesake grandfather of Lucius Annius Fabianus who is mentioned in the inscription as FABIANVS.[7] Additionally, Cyril Toumanoff instead of Pharasmanes II, identifies this Pharasmanes as King Pharasmanes III of Iberia, who was Pharasmanes II's grandson.[8]
