Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheif
Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheif is a preserved building that was a home of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, where he used to spend afternoons during summer. Constructed in 1955, it is considered to be one of the most important historical places in Jumeirah area, Dubai. It was a convenient location to spend a summer’s afternoon in, due to the nature of the area, which was famous for its abundance of palm trees, fresh air, far from noise and construction at that time. It was called Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheif in honor of one of the ancient submarines which was full of oysters. It is now owned and managed by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.
Opening hours of Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheif are Sunday to Thursday 07:30 – 14:30, closed on Friday & Saturday.
