Maaemo is a Norwegian Restaurant located in Schweigaardsgate in Oslo, Norway. In March 2012 it was awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide, the first time a Nordic restaurant has been awarded two stars in its first mention in the guide.[1] The restaurant is run by Danish Head Chef, Esben Holmboe Bang.
In February 2016 it was awarded three stars, at the same time as the Danish restaurant Geranium, the first Nordic restaurants given three stars. Maaemo focuses on local food and only uses organic, biodynamic, or wild produce.
In June 2016, Maaemo was voted 61st best restaurant in the world at The World's 50 Best Restaurants awards. [2]
