M3 is the third album independently released by the industrial metal band Mushroomhead. It was released in 1999 on their own label. This was the final studio album with DJ Virus and Dinner as members of the band. The songs "Before I Die", "Solitaire/Unraveling", "Xeroxed" and "Born of Desire" were later included on both the Eclipse Records and Universal Records versions of XX in 2001.
The song "Inevitable" samples the Stephen King miniseries "Storm of the Century."
