Lucidpress is a web-based layout/design software application produced by Lucid Software Inc. Built on web standards such as HTML5 and JavaScript, Lucidpress is supported in all modern web browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer 8+.

History

In October 2013, Lucid Software Inc., a startup based in Salt Lake City, Utah, first announced its Lucidpress page layout platform as a public beta version.[1] Following this release, Lucidpress was featured in Techcrunch and PC World, with Techcrunch noting: "I had a chance to test the app before its launch and it is indeed very easy to use. If you’ve ever used a desktop publishing app in the past, you’ll feel right at home with Lucidpress, as it features the same kind of standard top-bar menu and layout options as most other publishing apps. In terms of features, it can also hold its own against similar desktop-based apps."[1][2]

In October 2013, Lucidpress became available in the Google Apps Marketplace.[3]

In May 2015, Lucidpress hit 1,000,000 users.

Lucid Software Inc. was founded in 2008 after co-founder Ben Dilts designed a solution to diagramming difficulties he encountered at his job at a startup in the health benefits industry. In 2010, former Google executive, Karl Sun, met Dilts and subsequently signed on as Lucid Software's CEO. Today, Lucid Software employs 50+ full-time employees.

Lucidpress incorporates a real-time collaborative editor, allowing multiple users to edit a document simultaneously. Users can also make comments and chat with collaborators in real time.

Cloud-Based

Lucidpress is accessible through modern web browsers, and all documents are securely stored in the cloud. The application doesn't require downloads.

Lucidpress is fully integrated with Google Drive and Google Apps. You can import images from Flickr, Facebook and Dropbox.

Lucidpress' integration with Google Apps is, as of October 25, 2013, the top productivity app in the Google Apps marketplace.[36]
