Lovingly Yours was a Sunday afternoon program aired on GMA Network from 1992 until 1996. The original name for the TV series was Lovingly Yours, Helen, but the name change occurred after hostess/television persona Helen Vela died on February 14, 1992. Replacing her late mother's hosting chores, actress and daughter of late Helen Vela aka Ate Helen, Princess Punzalan, took over her late mother's hosting responsibilities. Upon the ending of the series, Helen Gamboa and Boots Anson-Roa, replaced Princess Punzalan as hostess. Thus, Punzalan portrayed the protagonist and central roles. It was also the second longest running drama anthology in Philippine television predated Maalaala Mo Kaya on GMA Network's rival network, ABS-CBN, and the now defunct Coney Reyes on Camera (Vela's closest friend) and aired on Radio Philippines Network or RPN and ABS-CBN. On November 20, 1996, Lovingly Yours, Helen and Lovingly Yours would be replaced by the popular television series Anna Karenina, starring actress Antoinette Taus. After the finale of the anthology, Princess Punzalan, would transfer to GMA Network's rival network ABS-CBN to star as main antagonist and villain in the primetime television series Mula Sa Puso, starring Claudine Barretto and the late Rico Yan. Punzalan was given critical acclaim for her portrayal as Selina Pereira-Matias.

Music Theme

The opening theme for Lovingly Yours, Helen and Lovingly Yours was the instrumental version of the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest co-winner Un Jour, Un Enfant by Paul Muriat. "Ballade pour Adeline" composed and written by Paul de Senneville, who always used as background music while Helen Vela and Princess Punzalan delivered narration and their final advice to the letter sender.

As Lovingly Yours

In 1992, after the death of the host, Helen Vela, Princess Punzalan (her daughter, and ex-wife of TV personality Willie Revillame) took over her late mother's hosting chores and responsibilities. Along with Princess Punzalan taking over the show, the name was converted to "Lovingly Yours", unlike it predecessor Lovingly Yours, Helen. Even after Vela's death, the drama anthology program continued to become the top weekend afternoon anthology on TV.

On the last years of the Lovingly Yours airing actresses Helen Gamboa and Boots Anson-Roa took over Princess Punzalan's hosting chores and responsibilities. Punzalan then started portraying the protagonist/lead/central roles of the letter senders. One of its most memorable and notable episodes was during the time after Vela's death, was when Princess Punzalan played her own life story.

16'th Anniversary and Farewell Episode

After 16 years of airing, Lovingly Yours bowed out of Philippine television with a special thanksgiving dinner show and tribute to Helen Vela, mother of hostess Princess Punzalan. During the thanksgiving dinner, an awarding ceremony was given to the producers and staff who already worked for the program, during Lovingly Yours, Helen and Lovingly Yours.

A special presentation features a video clip of Helen Vela's performance with friends Coney Reyes, Tina Revilla, and Vilma Santos, who sang "A Friend" by Keno on Vilma! in 1989. The drama anthology was replaced by Anna Karenina on November 20, 1996 starring Antoinette Taus, Sunshine Dizon, Kim delos Santos, and Tanya Garcia.

It was the longest running anthology of Philippine television history during its time. In 2011, Maalaala Mo Kaya beat the sensational drama series, which is currently being narrated by Charo Santos-Concio.
