Lovely Cat's Eye
"Lovely Cat's Eye" is Misono's fourth solo single. It debuted at #9 on the Oricon daily charts, her highest position since "Kojin Jugyō", and on the weekly charts it peaked at #14.
Overview
The title track, "Lovely Cat's Eye", was used as an insert song for commercials for Tales of the Tempest video game. The b-side track, "Tomorrow", was likewise used in commercials for Glico's Cafe au Lait. "Tomorrow" is a cover song, originally by Mayo Okamoto and was released in 1995. This is Misono's first single since "Speedrive" in July 2006 and is Misono's most successful single since her debut single "VS" until 2008's Ninin Sankyaku.
Music video
The music video for "Lovely Cat's Eye" takes place mainly in a cartoon-forest setting, but opens with Misono watching TV, when a wanted poster comes on for a blue bird offering a large sum of money for its capture. Misono ventures out into the forest to try to and capture it. She spots it, but after failing to catch it with her hands, she considers alternatives to catch. Suddenly, a gun falls from the sky, and Misono picks it up and goes after the bird. After another failed attempt (followed by a dance cutscene), the timeline rewinds "2 hours earlier" to when Misono sees the gun, but this time she steps over it and tries to catch the bird another way. She eats some candy growing on a tree, and she turns into a giantess. When she cannot catch the bird even this way, she eats the candy again to return to her original size. The bird flies into her face and becomes a tattoo on her nose (as depicted on the cover).
