Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra
The Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra (also known as LAV) is an instrumental ensemble based in Los Angeles, California, committed to the support and advocacy of music education in schools and the community. LAV donates 100 percent of net revenues from its subscription performances to advance music education.[1]
History
Carlo Ponti founded the orchestra in December 2013.[2]
The ensemble debuted at Napa Valley Festival del Sole in July 2014.[3][4]
Second concert season (2016/17) currently being performed at the Raymond Kabbaz Theatre in Los Angeles under Carlo Ponti,[5] music and artistic director.
Composition
The Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra core size is of 22 strings, (two sections of six violins each, four violas, four cellos and two basses). The orchestra's instrumental forces can be reduced or expanded as per works performed.[6]
