The diocesan system of Christian church government in Spain: the country is divided into 70 territorial dioceses and archdioceses, each headed by a bishop or archbishop, and grouped into fourteen ecclesiastical provinces, each headed by a metropolitan archbishop. There is also a military ordinariate, which is a personal diocese headed by an archbishop.
