Lexington	United States	Lexington. The paddle steamer caught fire off Long Island, New York and sank with the loss of 139 of the 143 people on board. She was on a voyage from New York City to Stonington, Connecticut.

Ship	Country	Description
Dolphin	United Kingdom	The schooner was driven ashore and wrecked on Burry Holms, Glamorgan with the loss of all five crew.[1]
Shepherd	United Kingdom	The schooner was driven ashore and wrecked at Worms Head, Glamorgan with the loss of al hands.[1]
Suir	United Kingdom	The barque was driven ashore at Llanmadoc, Glamorgan. Her crew were rescued.[1]

Saggitario	Austrian Empire	The polacca was wrecked near Chesil Beach. Dorset, United Kingdom. Her thirteen crew were rescued.[2]

Quebeck	United Kingdom	The ship collided with Request ( United Kingdom) off Pakefield, Suffolk. Both vessels foundered, their crews were rescued.[3]

Perseverance	United Kingdom	The ship was wrecked at Cardigan. Her crew were rescued.[3]

Gaillardon	United Kingdom	The ship was wrecked on the northern of False Point at the mouth of the Hooghly River. Her crew were rescued. The mate pilot was drowned trying to the save wreck.

Hope	United Kingdom	The paddle steamer (South Africa's first coastal steamer) was wrecked near Cape St. Francis. All 72 passengers and crew reached shore on a constructed raft and a damaged jolly-boat.[4]

Hopewell	United Kingdom	The brig was run into by the schooner Yanden ( United Kingdom) and foundered in the Bristol Channel with the loss of five of the twelve people on board. Survivors were rescued by Yanden.[1]

Ant	United Kingdom	The Humber Keel was driven ashore and wrecked at Lowestoft, Suffolk. Her crew were rescued.[3]
HMS Fairy	Royal Navy	The Cherokee-class brig-sloop foundered in the North Sea off the coast of Suffolk with the loss of all hands.[3]
Request	United Kingdom	The brig was driven ashore and wrecked between Dunwich and Walberswick, Suffolk with the loss of six of her ten crew. Survivors were rescued by rocket apparatus.[3]

City of Bristol	United Kingdom	The steamship foundered in Rhosilli Bay with the loss of 25 of the 27 people on board. She was on a voyage from Waterford to Bristol, Gloucestershire.[1]
