Mediacorp Channel 8's television series 118 is a socio-drama series produced by Mediacorp Studios from 2014 to 2017. The story is set against the backdrop of a coffeeshop in Tiong Bahru, offering a light-hearted social commentary on current topics with relatable characters and incidents.
The first season aired on Mediacorp Channel 8 in Singapore from 20 October 2014 and ran until 16 October 2015 with 255 episodes. A second season with 218 episodes is slated to begin airing from 29 November 2016.

| Hong Daming (Chew Chor Meng) grew up in Tiong Bahru and remained there as an adult, starting a business in the neighbourhood. It is his 25th wedding anniversary. With his wife, Liu Meimei (Pan Lingling), he reminisces about his life. Meimei is the paranoid sort. When she learns there may be a water shortage as a result of the dry spell, she buys empty bottles to stock up on water. The Hongs have a pair of biological children, Jinzhi (Ya Hui) and Shunshui (Xu Bin), and a pair of adopted children, Shunfeng (Dennis Chew) and Yuye (Somaline Ang). Shunfeng is a little silly and tells Meimei no girl would want to marry a man like him, even though he has some savings. Daming and Meimei share a room with their four children. Meimei feels awkward when her children let her and Daming have the room for the night. Meimei is woken up by a loud sound. She urges Daming to check out their coffeeshop downstairs. | ||

| Meimei holds a glass bottle to protect herself, which reminds Daming of how he had fallen in love with her after an incident involving gangsters. They find nothing but cockroaches running around. Just as they are leaving, they hear someone coughing. Daming has a tenant, Li Weiliang (Chen Hanwei), who is very particular about his face. He even uses crushed pineapple as a face mask. Jinzhi asks Shunfeng to buy her a present, as he has more than $10,000 in the bank. He readily agrees, and brags that he is rich. Daming starts business at his coffeeshop, 118. Steven (Ye Shipin), who has just been discharged from hospital, turns up and moans about having kidney disease. When he laments that he would rather die, Daming consoles him. Meimei urges Daming to watch his diet, so as to ward off kidney disease. In the coffeeshop, she finds to her bewilderment that two eggs were missing. The washed cups are wet, too. Yuye makes a beeline for the toilet and is in for a rude shock. | ||

| Meimei settles Yuye and finds out Daming has gone out with Steven. She worries, as Steven dabbles in all the vices. Concerned Daming will be influenced, she asks Shunshui to get him to come back. Steven merely wants Daming to convince the neighbours to sell their shops to a real estate agency. Daming tells the agent to give up, as he will not persuade anyone to move out. Steven is persistent as he needs money urgently. Liang develops an allergic reaction to the pineapple mask. He covers his head and stops anyone trying to photograph him or his rice dumpling stall. He does not even want free advertising for his stall. Daming likes to go to the hawker centre after he closes shop. While there, he sings as the fancy strikes him. Qing, a cleaner, puts an empty tissue box in front of him. A woman puts money into the box. When she discovers Daming is not blind, she calls him a trickster. A mysterious man turns up when Shunfeng is washing the toilet in the shop. | ||

| Qing tries to clarify the matter, but the woman refuses to be pacified. She accuses Qing, a foreign worker, of being in cahoots with Daming and berates her for upsetting the social harmony. Peeved, Daming speaks up for her, but the woman insists on calling the police. Zhang Meiyou (Roy Loi) threatens to reveal the truth behind the deaths of Shunfeng’s parents and let due punishment fall on Daming, unless Shunfeng gives him $5,000. He does not fall for the scam, and Meiyou leaves empty-handed. Meimei’s sister, Jiejie (Liu Lingling), and her husband, Tiancheng (Chen Tianwen), turn up for a loan. Meimei, who has given Tiancheng lots of money, decides not to help anymore. He flares up and refuses to leave. Liang decides to teach Tiancheng a lesson. Shunfeng learns Daming is at the police station and assumes Meiyou really did call the police. Meiyou grabs the chance to extort money from him. | ||

| Liang and Jinzhi take Tiancheng to task. Accusing Meimei of masterminding everything, Tiancheng leaves in a huff. Shunfeng asks Jinzhi for the password to his account. Jinzhi assumes he wants money to buy a present for their parents. Qing apologises to Daming when the police are involved in the argument regarding the tissue box. Daming is not offended, and consoles her. Tiancheng turns back when he meets Daming along the way. Daming makes Meimei take out their emergency fund to help Jiejie and Tiancheng. Sensing something amiss, Jinzhi looks for Shunfeng. She sees him giving Meiyou $2000. Liang tries to knock Meiyou out, but in the end gets hurt and Meiyou escapes. Daming is exasperated when Shunfeng refuses to reveal why Meiyou had blackmailed him. Daming and Meimei are disturbed when Liang identifies the conman as Zhang Meiyou, a getai singer from the past. | ||

| Daming is anxious Meiyou may be on to something, but Meimei is confident that isn't the case. Yuye wants to enter a beauty contest. She asks Shunshui to take pictures for her portfolio but he does a bad job. Liang offers to help, and lets her wear the dress he had designed 20 years ago for Meimei. Retro being the in thing, the dress looks fashionable and his talent impresses everyone. Jinzhi visits Granny Egg (Hong Damu) and explains the Pioneer Package to her. She also agrees to visit Granny Egg’s friends with her. Hua-sao likes Liang, and tries to get close to him. Daming’s help comes to nought when Liang rejects Hua-sao outright. Jinzhi senses that Liang must have a secret he cannot tell others, which is why he refuses to fall for anyone. Liang panics and wants to close down his stall when he discovers a magazine has introduced his rice dumplings. Granny Egg asks to go to Orchard Road. Jinzhi worries, as she hasn’t been there since Primary Six. | ||

| Jinzhi hits the so-called thief, Li Zhihao (Charles Lee), and snatches his mobile phone. She then realises Granny Egg had merely lent her phone to someone and it has been returned. She tries to find the guy she hit to apologise and return his phone, but he is nowhere to be seen. Liang worries about the article. He tells Jinzhi that 20 years ago, he left his girlfriend to make a name for himself in the French fashion industry. He failed and returned to Singapore penniless, and became hooked on drugs. So as not to be a burden, he told his girlfriend that he was a success in France, and would marry a French girl and never return. Though he pulled himself together with Meimei’s encouragement and started selling rice dumplings, he does not want his ex-girlfriend to find him. He cannot face her, and he does not want his image to be destroyed either. Jinzhi promises to help. Meiyou loses all the money he took from Shunfeng and returns to 118. He hides when Daming appears, but is almost discovered when some pepper fell on him. | ||

| Ada (Chloe Wang) tells Shunshui she wants to test-drive the car now, but he has to change his name from "Simon" to "Water". Shunshui gives in for the sake of money. At the market, Shunfeng notices Meiyou taking Granny Egg’s money and hits him with a lotus root. Granny Egg refuses to call the police. She reveals Meiyou is her unfilial son. Daming and Meimei worry when Shunfeng tells them Meiyou was at the market. Jiejie calls to tell Meimei bank officers are about to repossess the house and Tiancheng is nowhere to be found. Tiancheng, who is in bed with another woman, scolds Jiejie for letting the bank officers enter the house. Shunshui throws up when Ada speeds around turns. Daming overhears her sneering at Shunshui and advises her to treasure life. Ada senses Shunshui’s family’s concern for him. She leaves a US$200 tip, but Daming tells Shunshui to return it. Tiancheng takes Jiejie and their son, Zhenhui (Nick Teo), to Zhang Keke (Dawn Yeoh), his daughter with his ex-wife. | ||

| Keke, who is busy handling customers on investment issues, rushes home upon receiving a call from the security guard of her block. She refuses to take Tiancheng in. It was her mother and grandmother who had raised her, and she feels no sense of obligation to him. Refusing to leave, he promises to move out when he has found a place to stay. When Keke has left the house, Tiancheng messes everything up and scolds Jiejie when she nags him. Meimei senses that someone has been eating and drinking for free in the shop. Daming decides to investigate. Jinzhi is about to shut the shop for the day when she notices a child sitting alone. The girl is Viveka (Sun Yi En), daughter of Meimei’s paternal aunt, Hong Shanshan. Daming scolds Viveka’s father for letting the girl take the bus alone to the coffeeshop. Daming and Meimei lay in ambush at the shop. Liang comes down to get ice for his fever and mentions how Meimei was pregnant before she got married all those years ago. | ||

| Jinzhi is amused when Liang and Viveka argue relentlessly over Viveka's toy. Jiejie cooks a simple meal for Tiancheng and Zhenhui. Father and son complain, and even accuse her of pocketing the household funds. When she denies keeping any money, Tiancheng refuses to believe her and laments that he should not have abandoned his pretty wife to marry a jinx like her. Daming admonishes Shunshui for accumulating credit card debt and not planning for his future. Shunshui claims his money has all been invested. Ada calls to say she hopes to drink 118’s coffee before she leaves Singapore. Shunshui asserts that the shop is closed and she can try it next time. He is stunned when Ada accepts Daming’s invitation to dinner at home. Ada has a good time at dinner with the Hongs, and even had three bowls of rice. Shunshui is taken aback when she suddenly kisses him. Meimei loses sleep over Jiejie and is reminded of their getai days when they were children. | ||

| Unable to sleep, Jiejie remembers how Meimei had tried to dissuade her from being in a relationship with Tiancheng. She had refused to listen. Jiejie wakes up early in the morning to do the chores. When she realises Tiancheng had used Keke’s tablet, she slips it back into Keke’s office bag. Keke meets her clients and is embarrassed her tablet has many porn websites. She rushes home and asks Security to help throw Tiancheng out. Meimei cannot believe Meiyou suspects Jinzhi is his daughter. She blames herself for being naive and allowing him cheat her of her feelings. Daming consoles her and gives his assurance that every problem can be solved if they are united. | ||

| Daming issues a '118' VIP card to Meiyou and tells him that he can use it to get anything in Tiong Bahru for free. Meiyou goes to a boutique and really does obtain two sets of clothes free of charge. Shunshui cannot help but stare at Yuye, who appears for the shoot in a bikini. She tells him off and makes him give her a treat. | ||

| Meiyou is thrilled when he gets a free haircut as well with Daming’s card. He is scheming to get more out of Daming when an unknown person attacks him and knocks him out. Daming is pleased the government is promoting the MediShield Life Plan. With great peace of mind, he eats heartily. Meimei sneers at Tiancheng, who vows to make a comeback. Wearing makeup and a slinky outfit, Jiejie prepares to go out. She ignores Tiancheng, who calls her a ghost and a dumpling. | ||

| Tiancheng gets bitten by the snake in the toilet and runs out in a panic. Daming, Shunfeng and Shunshui capture the snake with much effort. Jiejie asks the getai boss to let her sing again and promises to leave if anyone in the audience boos at her. She does her best on stage and is happy the response is encouraging. Tiancheng scoffs at her for returning to the stage. Taken aback when she tells him off and warns him not to be mean, he agrees to take on her getai rounds. Unable to tolerate Tiancheng, Liang agrees to a duel after the coffeeshop closes. Jinzhi notices Sijia (Priscelia Chan) approaching the coffeeshop and tips Liang off. | ||

| Tiancheng and Liang compete in arm wrestling. Tiancheng is about to win when Liang unleashes in a surge of energy and beats him. Seeing Sijia again leaves Liang out of sorts. Daming learns Cleaner Qing’s newborn son is in the hospital and needs money for surgery. He gathers funds from the neighbours and even contributes one day of 118’s earnings. Shunshui and the real estate agent are trying to persuade the old shop owners to sell their units. When he claims Daming has already decided to sell the coffeeshop, Daming flies into a rage and admonishes Shunshui for trying to cheat the elderly. Shunshui voices his own grievances. | ||

| Zhihao, the guy wrongly accused of not paying for the chwee kueh, wants Jinzhi to apologise and to return the mobile phone she took from him. As Yuye is sleeping and does not pick up the telephone, Jinzhi has to return home herself to get the mobile phone. Jinzhi steps away when Zhihao announces he is a backpacker who has not had a bath for several days and could have ticks on his body. When he complains about how cold and aloof Singaporeans are, compared to foreigners, she lets him take a bath in the coffeeshop. He turns out to be rather good-looking after washing up. | ||

| Liang uses his scissors to help Jinzhi turn her outfit into something more hip. Meimei learns from Granny Egg that Meiyou has come round, but cannot remember anyone. However, he keeps asking for his daughter, which makes Meimei concerned. Zhigao (Cavin Soh) takes his mother, Er-gu (Cai Pingkai), to the coffeeshop for coffee every week. She is weak and needs kidney dialysis twice a week. He worries that his mother will fall and often carries her. | ||

| It is Zhigao’s first day as a taxi driver. Scouting around for a good first customer, he picks a young lady over a man with tattoos. To his dismay, she asks to go to a columbarium. Liang decides to check on Sijia’s husband, Max Chan (Benjamin Heng), to see if he is worthy of her. He soon realises Max is a kind gentleman, and returns to the coffeeshop with a heavy heart. | Shanshan (Sheila Sim) is back to get Viveka, but the latter is out with Daming and Meimei. She gives Liang a slap for treating Viveka’s birthday gift as "dog poo". Zhigao asks Alex to check on Shanshan, who has been gone a long time. Alex refuses to budge. Peeved, Zhigao lashes out at Alex for sponging on Shanshan. Alex is indifferent. Liang is shocked to find Shanshan her sleeping in the toilet. She and Alex are out of money, and have had to stay outdoors for two nights. Liang helps her walk out of the toilet because her legs are numb. Zhigao gets the mistaken impression that Liang has tried to molest her. | ||

| Shunfeng rushes out with shampoo on his hair and sees Ah Zhen (Mu Qing) at the back door. She apologises for troubling him. He does not mind, and offers her food. He feels sorry for Ah Zhen, who has been eating leftovers at the hawker centre. Shanshan and Viveka return to Alex’s workshop-cum-home, and realise he has not returned home. | Shunfeng lets Ah Zhen stay in the coffeeshop. They hide under a blanket together when Daming turns up to check the place. Shunfeng is captivated by Ah Zhen’s smile, but lies that he regards her as a younger sister. Tiancheng takes $1,000 from Jiejie’s handbag and scolds her when she tries to take it back. Infuriated, she very nearly strangles him. When Meimei and Daming intervene, Tiancheng throws the money back at Jiejie. | ||

| Daming is incensed with Shunshui for using his sister. Asserting that he would never do such a thing intentionally, Shunshui vows to bear the responsibility for her safety and rushes out of the house to look for her. Coincidentally, she is walking home. | Zhenhui is in Meimei’s room when Yuye and Meimei walk in. Yuye changes clothes in the room and discovers Zhenhui in hiding. She accuses him of peeking at her. He claims he had merely sneaked into the room to enjoy the air-conditioning. Tiancheng takes Zhenhui’s side and complains about the air-conditioner in his room. Meimei discovers her money is gone. Jinzhi stops Zhenhui from leaving the house. He denies stealing the money. However, Jinzhi confronts him about his girlfriend, and he admits she is pregnant and he needs money to settle the matter. | Jinzhi is not sure whether she wants to meet Zhihao. Putting the indecision down to first-date jitters, Yuye tells her not to date him, as his future is dim as a pizza boy. Yuye deduces that Zhihao had placed a bet with someone about asking Jinzhi out. With her appearance, his bet was won and he left. | Shunshui denies having been intimate with Ada. He warns her not to trouble his family. She insists she cannot return to the hotel, as Simon will be able to find her. According to Fuhai (Zhang Wenxiang), Daming had cheated Fudi by claiming the goods were sold for $30,000, when the selling price was $85,000. Daming admits he let Fudi down and they had an argument in the car. However, the accident was an accident, not an attempt to silence him. However, the Hongs have made her cry again. With Shunfeng sniffing, Ada assumes he is touched by her story. He misses Ah Zhen. | Shunfeng rejects Ada’s offer of money; he wants to help Ah Zhen himself. However, his money is with Meimei, who will not agree to let him help Ah Zhen. Eventually, he decides to accept Ada’s help and repay her slowly. Zhihao calls on Jinzhi and apologises for disappearing the day before. She loses her temper, as she has been worried about him. He comes to realise how much she cares about him. Liang decides to suspend business at his stall and continue investigating Max Chan. He tries to ignore Shanshan’s slipshod ways, but cannot resist cleaning the room. Daming learns how to use the video-camera from Yuye, and reveals his 20-year secret during a recording. Liang plays a melancholic tune while thinking of Sijia. When Xiaobao turns up at the shop, Shunfeng asks him not to snatch Meizhen away. Xiaobao denies that he is dating her and tells Shunfeng not to believe what Jingui has said. He vows never to take her away. Zhigao flares up when Liang keeps reminding him to keep tabs on Limei. He and Liang make a pact to run half-naked when the truth surfaces. Shanshan and Liang drag Zhigao home. Limei has no way to hide the truth and leaves with Carrie. Zhigao becomes withdrawn, and everyone worries. Jinzhi gives each member of her family a hug at the hospital. Only Shunshui is able to cheer the despondent Meimei up. He also resolves the argument between Shunfeng and Yuye and is reminded of what Jinzhi had said about needing him to take care of the family. He even feels he is lucky she has a child, as he would not have won her heart otherwise. Liang moves Shanshan’s leg to enable her to sleep more comfortably on the sofa and is given a kick, which hurts his back. Guilt-stricken, she helps him with his rice dumplings, even though they are still angry with each other. Tiancheng vies with Yuye for the toilet. Zhenhui tells his father off for not being a changed man despite his jail term. Shanshan gets angry when Liang mentions Dawei again. She invites Dawei to 118 for breakfast. Lucas casts Limei aside when she refuses to gamble. Limei tells Zhigao that initially, she had merely wanted to find someone to depend on, but his love for her has touched her heart. Thrilled, he asks her to return home with him. He has decided to regard Carrie as his own daughter. Jinzhi’s surgery ends and she finally comes round. Meimei and the others are overjoyed. Limei confirms she is pregnant. When Zhigao tells Er-gu, the latter is skeptical that the baby is Zhigao’s. Zhihao tries in vain to contact Daming, as Jinzhi wants to see her father. Ke’ai accompanies Yuye to the hospital. The Hongs are in such low spirits that she asks Shunshui whether he still wants to abandon his family. Keke tells Shunshui off when he rebuts. Zhenhui tells Vivian he has been promoted to manager and that he hopes to see her soon. Meiyou is happy Jinzhi acknowledges him as her father, but he is worried Daming and his family will be unhappy. He asks Zhihao to assure Daming and his family that he will never take Jinzhi away. Zhihao assures Meiyou that if he is determined to be a good person, everyone will accept him someday. Xiaobao and Meizhen turn up to visit Jinzhi. She recognises Xiaobao right away. Meizhen is unhappy when Zhihao asks Xiaobao to keep Jinzhi company and help her regain her memory. Keke urges Ke’ai to treasure Shunshui’s love for her, rather than live to regret not doing so. Meimei cannot understand how Daming can prepare dinner so happily. She accuses him of being indifferent about Jinzhi’s condition because she is not his biological daughter. Unable to tolerate the situation, Shunshui reveals that Daming had collapsed out of exhaustion and yet is still trying to keep the family together. Daming tells Meimei he does not mind that Jinzhi has acknowledged Meiyou as her father. He knows Jinzhi’s love for him will never change and she will forever be his daughter. Zhenhui becomes anxious when Vivian does not respond to his messages. Yuye tries to call her, but fails to get her too. Jiejie orders Tiancheng to learn the ropes from Jingui. Exasperated with Tiancheng, Jingui soon tells Jiejie to choose between them. Meizhen tells Jingui that Xiaobao is tiring himself out by keeping Jinzhi company at the hospital. Jingui promises to get Xiaobao to return home. Shunfeng learns Meizhen and Xiaobao are not dating. Shunshui knows he will never forgive himself if he betrays his family for money. Moved to see Shunshui crying, Ke’ai finally decides to accept his love. Keke is overjoyed. Shunshui and Ke’ai are grateful to her for not giving up on them. Shunshui urges the despondent Shunfeng not to give up hope of finding a life partner. He even quotes Forest Gump as encouragement. Limei calls out to Er-gu to come out for breakfast. There is no response, and Limei is anxious. She later realises Er-gu could not be bothered to respond to her. Jingui visits Uncle Chen and sets a wedding date for Xiaobao and Meizhen. Shanshan assumes Liang has not opened his stall because he is upset. She does not realise he cannot get out of bed because of his back injury. | ||

| Liang cannot get out of bed, but needs to go to the toilet. He calls out for help, but only Tiancheng is at home. As the room is locked and Tiancheng does not have the key, Liang asks him to get Shanshan. Shanshan breaks the door down, as she had left the key in the room. Shocked, Liang wets his bed. She does not mind and helps him to the bathroom to wash up. He feels awkward, and she tells him to treat it as his wife waiting on him. Touched, he apologises for their misunderstanding and asks to start anew. Ke’ai and Shunshui are asked to meet Mary at the law firm. Shunshui tells her that nothing can buy kinship ties and he has decided to turn down her offer. Mary is happy she has finally proven money is not omnipotent. She decides to give the house in Sentosa to Shunshui and Ke’ai as a wedding gift, while Keke gets an apartment. They turn down the gifts, and learn Mary’s children have applied for a court order to freeze her assets. | ||

| Dawei offers Shanshan good terms but makes it clear he wants her to keep him company for a night or the contract will be null and void. Infuriated, she gives him a slap. She would rather stay an unknown model than betray herself for fame. Liang turns up in time to stop Dawei from hitting her. Shanshan is unhappy with Liang for tailing her. When asked for his opinion, he asserts that even though he would have been disappointed if she had agreed to the deal, he would still love her just as much. Shanshan kisses him. One month passes. Jinzhi can be discharged, but she has not regained her memory. Meiyou and Meimei agree to take turns to take care of her. However, Meimei soon finds Jinzhi helping to sell eggs and flowers. Shunfeng, Shunshui and Liang try in vain to jolt Jinzhi’s memory by showing her family photographs. Meimei drags Jinzhi home. Meiyou is unhappy she has broken her promise. However, he makes a decision when Meiyou declares that if Jinzhi should need a transplant, he would offer his without a doubt. Jinzhi is so troubled that Shunfeng advises her not to brood over her love life. As she relates many events of the past, he realises she has regained her memory. | ||

Hua-jie is scolded when she tries to persuade him to get Jinzhi immediately. Meiyou discovers he has forgotten Hua-jie’s birthday. He rushes out to buy a cake and promises to sing to her. Jinzhi learns Xiaobao was beaten up by Jingui. She insists on visiting him, and Zhihao tags along. Jingui is angry with Xiaobao for snatching Jinzhi away from Zhihao. Jinzhi is upset by the sight of Xiaobao's many bruises. He feels apologetic towards Zhihao, but the latter asserts that he has yet to give up on Jinzhi. Carol tells Zhihao everything, and he comes to understand why, subconsciously, Jinzhi does not want to be with him. Xiaobao saves Zhihao from an attack. When Tiancheng criticises the chef’s work, Zhenhui pulls out a picture of a plate of awful-looking spaghetti, which Tiancheng had once prepared. Zhenhui then tips him off about the surprise test Jiejie has set. If Tiancheng passes, she intends to let him run a spaghetti stall. Zhenhui stops a guy from kissing Yuye and is embarrassed when he finds out Yuye is just filming a show. Zhigao shows Jinzhi the coloured band Carrie has made for him. What he says reminds her of Zhihao. Zhihao calls 118 and tells everyone he is leaving for America. Jinzhi is indifferent to the news. | ||

| Ke’ai tells Jinzhi that love knows no boundaries and she should trust Zhihao’s love for her, but Jinzhi remains unconvinced. Meiyou saves Jinzhi from being scalded by hot soup. The violent shove causes her recall to the past. She finally realises why Meimei objects to her acknowledging Meiyou as her father. Hua-jie calls to tell Meiyou that Granny Egg’s condition has deteriorated and that she hopes to see Jinzhi one last time. Meiyou begs Jinzhi to visit Granny Egg but to no avail. Meimei offers to go with Jinzhi, and Granny Egg’s last wish is fulfilled. One month passes. Shunfeng is training hard for the marathon when Meizhen calls to invite him to dinner. Uncle Chen has undergone surgery as Shunfeng suggested and has recovered. He and Meizhen want to thank Shunfeng. Liang and Shanshan persevere in the competition and get through to the semi-finals. While watching a movie with Xiaobao, Jinzhi is reminded of Zhihao. | ||

Xiaobao confronts Jinzhi and asks whether she was frustrated about Zhihao and had vented her feelings on him. Jinzhi breaks down in tears. Panicking, he apologises, but Jinzhi asserts that she should be the one to apologise. Daming, Meimei and Zhi praise Tiancheng’s three spaghetti dishes. Uncle Chen is grateful to Shunfeng for his advice, as well as for his concern for Meizhen, even though they are no longer a couple. Shunfeng views Meizhen as his best friend and Uncle Chen as his grandpa. Chen Gang wants Uncle Chen to move in with him. Presuming she will have to move out, Meizhen is surprised when Uncle Chen decides to let her inherit the apartment. Xiaobao sees Jinzhi home and asks to kiss her. | ||

Blaming herself for his loss of confidence in his relationship with Jinzhi, she begs Jinzhi to save her son from misery. Jinzhi tells Xiaobao she will only go to New York if he approves. He objects, as he has already called Zhihao and lied that Jinzhi is dying. Zhihao rushes back to Singapore and realises Xiaobao has tricked him into returning to Jinzhi’s side. Xiaobao leaves after giving them his blessing. Meizhen turns up during the marathon to give Shunfeng support and tells him that she wants to start anew with him. Energised, Shunfeng comes in within the top 50. Daming gathers everyone for a party before 118 closes for renovations. | ||

| The coffeeshop, 118, has been closed for half a year for upgrading. Daming (Chew Chor Meng) tells the neighbours the newly-renovated coffeeshop will soon be open again for business, and promises to give them each a 50 percent discount. Meimei (Pan Lingling) corrects him promptly, saying their sons, Shunfeng (Dennis Chew) and Shunshui (Xu Bin), will be the new bosses and that they will decide if any discounts are to be given. Daming flies into a rage when he sees a worker trying to remove the 118 signboard. Shunshui explains that he is going to revamp the coffeeshop’s image and change the signboard to Yeo Yeo Huat. Shunfeng and Meizhen’s (Sora Ma) wedding day is approaching. They decide to have their wedding photos taken at the new 118. The photographer does not turn up. Shunshui suddenly remembers his property agent friend, Liu Jizhou (Bryan Wong), who happens to pop by, is a photography enthusiast. He asks Jizhou to be the photographer. | Meizhen calls Shunshui. Judging by Shunshui’s response, Yuye (Somaline Ang) assumes mistakenly that Meizhen is backing out of the wedding. It turns out that Meizhen’s uncle wants to be the owner of the house that Uncle Chen had left her and has filed an injunction. She and Shunfeng no longer have a place to move into. Daming suggests they stay with the Hongs for the time being. Yuye objects. She is certain Meizhen and Meimei will face mother-in-law and daughter-in-law issues.
