Kurali is a city and a municipal council in Greater Chandigarh, Mohali district in the Indian state of Punjab.[1]
Geography
Kurali is 26 km away from the Punjab state capital Chandigarh, situated on National Highway 21. Nearby towns include Kharar, Ropar and Morinda on its respective three sides.
Government
Kurali is administered by an elected municipal council. The town is served by a government hospital, post office, and several schools and colleges.
Transportation
Kurali sits on National Highway 21 with direct access to Chandigarh and other parts of Punjab and India. The city is accessible by bus and supports a rail station with direct routes to other parts of the country, including Dehli. The nearest airport is Chandigarh Airport, approximately 30 km away and there is another international airport in Mohali 18 minutes away.
The town's railway station is one of the oldest in the state of Punjab and has been used as a set piece for several Bollywood movies.
Education
Kurali supports several educational institutions.Khalsa Senior Secondary School is one of the oldest institution. Govt school kurali is the PRIMARY school and Chakwal Senior Secondary School which was opened by lala budh ram after Indo-pak partition, is one of the old schools in the area as well. In the city, National Public School [2] was the first English middle school in the area. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.) New Delhi for A.I.S.S.E. (All India Secondary School Examination) and A.I.S.S.C.E. (All India Senior School Certificate Examination).
Other schools are Guru Harkrishan Public School, D.A.V. Model School (Sandeep Singh Rathoure is a product of this school), AND International Public School
The area also includes the Govt. Edustar Adarsh Senior Secondary School at Kalewal (giving free quality education/lunch for children of rural area, affiliated to CBSE), Senior Secondary School, IET Bhaddal, Indo-global Mirzapur, two colleges in Sahauran (Rayat college and Doaba College) and Sarawati nursing college.
Business and industry
Kurali was a very popular market for jaggery and groundnuts and is a famous market for sunflower and sugarcane. Kurali has a developing industrial sector due in part to the Government Industrial Area established in the early 1990s.

Bala Ji store is first store in Kurali which sells all items like milk, confectionery, bakery, and other daily use products. The Paul General Store & Book Depot is a famous stationery store.
Culture
Every year a fair is organized at Gassianwale Temple. At Nadipaar hundreds of thousands of people can be seen several times a year on special occasions having a community meal (langar), participating in havan or having medicated KHEER (for asthma -dama). Anyone can get free medicine for any disease (joint pain, diabetes, kidney problems or even cancer). People come to get blessings of Swami Ji Mahraaj, to heal their physical body and the inner self as well (the address is niholka road kurali distt mohali Punjab India -post 140103).
Other cultural events include Sheetla Mata fairs and Qawwalis at Peerkhana (at least once a year).
The town has a mosque, a church and two gurdwaras (Gurudwara khatariyan da and Bada Gurdwara). A historical gurudwara is situated near the bus stand, where the 6th Guru of Sikhs visited.
Other religious places/attractions of Kurali city are the temple of Sitla Mata, Sai Baba Mandir/Vridh Ashram, and 12 Mandir.
