Kolathukara shiva temple

Sree Kulathoor Kolathukara Shiva Temple is a Hindu temple located in Thiruvananthapuram in the Indian state of Kerala.[1] 1893. The temple was built at the request of Sree Narayana Guru in 1915.[2]

By eradicating bad customs from the Indian soil, Sri. Narayana Guru installed the idol of Lord Shiva at Kolathukara. Earlier, it was dedicated to the Goddess Bhadrakali. In those days animals were sacrificed to the Goddess. As part of eradicating this custom, Sri Narayana Guru installed the idol of Lord Siva-the-Viswanadh.
