Kilfree Junction railway station

Kilfree Junction is a former station in County Sligo and was located on the Sligo line and the branch line to Ballaghaderreen. This railway station opened by the Sligo and Ballaghderreen Railway on 31 October 1874, becoming part of the Midland Great Western Railway (MGWR) in 1877 and closed on 4 February 1963.[1] The junction faces Ballymote and Sligo station and is a trailing junction in the Boyle and Dublin Connolly direction.

The station served Gorteen in County Sligo as well connecting with Ballaghaderreen, in County Roscommon, Ireland along the branch line.
