KFIT (1060 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Gospel music format. Licensed to Lockhart, Texas, USA, the station serves the Austin area. The station is currently owned by KFIT, Inc. and features programming from Westwood One.[1]
History
Station was long called KCLT. The station was assigned the call letters KHJK on November 8, 1983. On February 9, 1988, the station changed its call sign to the current KFIT.[2]
The station operated as a 250-watt daytimer located in Lockhart for many years. The late Mike Venditti, working with prolific consultant Don Werlinger (one time principal of KFCC Bay City, Texas) worked to relocate the station to the 3-tower, 2,000-watt operation it is today.
