"Just What I Always Wanted" is a single by English singer Mari Wilson, released in 1982. The song was a big hit in her native United Kingdom and also her biggest. It reached the Top 10 and peaked at #8 on the UK Singles Chart in September 1982.[1] Other singles did not fare as well, with only one other reaching the Top 40, her version of "Cry Me a River" in 1983 which reached #27. "Just What I Always Wanted" is featured on her 1983 debut album, Showpeople.
