Juagdan is a barangay of the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol, Philippines.

The barangay's total land area is 131 hectares (320 acres).[3] According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 1,121. In the ? election, it had 795 registered voters, meaning that 71% of the population are aged 18 and over.[2]

Juagdan celebrates its annual fiesta on 23 May in honor of the patron saint.

Location

Located on the eastern peninsula of the municipality, Juagdan overlooks Bohol Sea to the east; it is bounded to the north by Cagting, to the south by Guintabo-an and to the west by Biabas. It is 16 km (9.9 mi) from the town center, Poblacion.

History

Juagdan was once a big barrio of the municipality. However, during the 1950s and years after, former sitios like Cagting, Cuya, Guintabo-an and Tintinan separated and became independent barangays.

The name Juagdan came from the Visayan word hagdan which means "bridge or pathway".
