Jonathan Monaghan

Jonathan Monaghan (born September 14, 1986 in Rockaway Beach, Queens, New York) is an American computer animator and artist.^[1] He received his BFA in computer graphics from the New York Institute of Technology.^[2] Monaghan then went on to receive a MFA from the University of Maryland.

Career

Monaghan's animations have been screened at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington D.C.^[3] and the Sundance Film Festival.^[4] His work have been reviewed in the Washington Post ^[5] and the Village Voice.^[6]

In its November 2011 issue, DC Modern Luxury Magazine named Monaghan one of the "Top 10 young artists to collect".^[7]

Monaghan is represented by bitforms gallery in New York.^[8]

3D printing

In June 2011, Monaghan was artist in residence at MakerBot Industries.^[9] in Brooklyn, New York and was selected by U.S. Department of State to speak on 3D printing.^[10]
