Johannes Kiel (14 April 1912 – 29 January 1944) was a German fighter ace in the Luftwaffe during World War II and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, awarded by Nazi Germany to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Kiel was killed on 29 January 1944 over Kirchheimbolanden, Germany. During his career he was credited with 25 aerial victories, 62 aircraft on the ground, 9 tanks, and 20 artillery pieces.
