Storylines
Series 8
Joey is a friend of established character Tiger Dyke and has a comedic character style. He is shown to be unintelligent throughout the eighth series, getting things wrong, and believes to himself that he has embarrassed and angered Tiger throughout their holiday. He is also shown to fancy ladies but is mostly rejected by every girl he talks too. Joey also regularly embarrasses himself without realising.
During a mountain climb with Tiger, Joey urinates on a memorial stone. When a man confronts the duo, Joey ignores and insults him, as the man prepares to fine him, the two walk off up to the mountain. Whilst up the mountain, Tiger brings the food whilst he expects that Joey will have brought water/drinks. However, Joey mistakenly thought that Tiger wanted him to bring pregnancy tablets up the mountain with him.
When the man injures himself, Joey and Tiger help him and call an ambulance. When down the mountain, Joey hands the man the pregnancy tablets which the man does not take and gives them back to Joey. The woman from the ambulance laughs and smirks at him, Joey then asks Tiger why the woman was giving him funny looks and Tiger reads the labelling on the tablets and the two laugh about.
At the bar following the mountain climb, the two re-meet the man again. He explains to Joey and Tiger that he has nominated them two for The Pride of Benidorm Awards for helping him with his injury up the mountain. The man later leaves the Solana and is not seen by Joey and Tiger for a few days.
Joey goes to a Nun's church, and steals three nun costumes, for him, Tiger and their new friend Rob Dawson. Whilst three men dressed as policemen, make the trio believe they are really police officers, the fake-policemen tell them to pick up every single piece of litter off the front of the beach. They do so, but when they find out that they were lying, so they decide to get revenge on them, but when they decide to do it, they mistakenly pull real policemen trousers down and put eggs on their heads. They are arrested but are not charged.
Joey reveals to Tiger that he had previously quit his job before their holiday, and Tiger contacts his own father and asks him to give Joey a job as a builder. Joey initially declines the job, and when Tiger asks him why, Joey explains that he has embarrassed Tiger throughout their holiday, but Tiger states that he did not, and Joey reaccepts the job offer. Later in the night, Joey and Tiger win their Pride of Benidorm Award.
