Joe Rutherford (20 September 1920, in Fatfield, County Durham – 27 December 1994, in Sutton Coldfield) was a footballer for Aston Villa F.C.. He played in 156 league and cup matches as a goalkeeper. He joined Aston Villa in 1939 and he retired in 1951. He played in several games as a guest, for various teams, during the Second World War, but these are not counted in official league records and tallys.
