João Afonso Telo de Meneses (1200s-1268) was a Portuguese nobleman, 2nd Lord of Albuquerque,[1] and alferes-mor of Afonso III of Portugal.[2]
Biography
João was the son of Alfonso Téllez de Meneses and Teresa Sanches, daughter of Sancho I of Portugal.[3] His wife was Elvira González Girón,[4] daughter of Rodrigo Gutiérrez Girón (Butler of Alfonso VIII of Castile).[5]
João Afonso Telo de Meneses, was great-grandson of Pedro Bernaldez de Sahagun and his wife Maria Suares.[6]
