Jenna McCormick (born 7 September 1994) is an Australian football (soccer) player, who plays for Stjarnan in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild.
Early life
McCormick was born and raised in Mount Gambier, South Australia before moving to Adelaide in 2011.[1] She played junior football for Blue Lake SC in Mount Gambier.[2] In Adelaide, McCormick attended Walford Anglican School for Girls and played soccer, cricket and Australian rules football at high levels.[3]
Playing career
Club
McCormick made her debut in the W-League for Adelaide United in December 2012 in a loss to Melbourne Victory.[4] Traditionally a midfielder, McCormick was used as a defender by Adelaide in the 2013–14 W-League.[1]
McCormick joined Canberra United in 2015.[5]
In 2016, McCormick moved to Iceland to play for Stjarnan in the Úrvalsdeild; making her debut as a substitute in a win over Selfoss.[6]
In April 2016, McCormick declared her interest in playing in the newly-formed AFL Women's.[7] McCormick was drafted by Adelaide to play in the league following the conclusion of the 2016–17 W-League in the 2016 AFL Women's draft.[8]
International
McCormick was included in an Australian Schoolgirls' team to tour South America in 2013.[9] McCormick was named Player of the Tournament.
