James Owens (born July 5, 1955 in Sacramento, California), is a former professional American football player who played six seasons in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Owens competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal in the 110 meter hurdles, finishing sixth.
James was mentioned in an episode of Card Sharks with Bob Eubanks in 1986 when a contestant named Marinea mentioned she was married to a professional football player named James Owens. She went on to win 9700.
