Jagdamba
Jagdamba Mata (also known as Jagubai, Jagdamba or Devi Jagdmaba) is an Indian goddess worshiped by many castes and tribes in India, especially from the state of Maharashtra. There are many stories passed on from generations to the next about the wonders of Jagdamba Mata.
There is a temple of Jagdamba mata at a village named Ashvi, Ahmednagar in the state of Maharashtra. Which has many old stories about the magical powers of that temple. Many people from the old generations have reported that the utensils needed by people for marriage ceremonies used to appear magically from the waters surrounding the temple after they asked for them to the goddess. The only condition was to return them after the work was done. The water completely surrounds the temple and is a closed loop. It is believed that the magic was ceased about 2-3 decades ago because few people did not return the utensils after their purpose was satisfied.
Another wonder that is believed was that the people who whole heartedly wanted a child but could not have one because of any problems, used to have a child if they asked the goddess for it. The condition was to set the child in a wooden cradle in the waters that surrounded the temple and trust the goddess completely about it. The cradle used to complete a round around the temple and return to the starting point with the baby, completely intact. A woman once set the child in waters after she had it after 14 years of struggle due to Devi Jagdamba's blessings, into the water but ran behind the cradle after a short time which showed that she didn't trust the goddess and unfortunately, the child did not return. The nxet time she had a child, she did not repeat her mistake and to everyone's surprise, there came two children in the cradle that returned. The woman was given her first child back. Some people believe that a woman entered the temple during her periods which caused the goddess to get angry and stop helping people (in Hindu culture, a woman on periods is not supposed to enter holy places or participate in any auspicious ceremonies).
The temple at Ashvi is renewed a few years ago.
