The team, headed by member planning AAI, along with aerodrome inspector from DGCA, Expert from civil engineering, Assistant commissioner security from Bureau of civil aviation security Mumbai along with Airport director, and deputy director of state government aviation, inspected the facilities at the airport and suggested ways and means to upgrade them.

The team identified the need to provide for and upgrade ATC (Air traffic Control), fire fighting services, terminal building for passengers' facilitation and security. With the completion of the terminal building and the control tower, services are expected to start soon.

The visit was undertaken in connection with the proposal for upgrading Jagdalpur airport to 2C category, which would enable operations of 40-50 seats ATRs. Once green signal is given by the team, process to start commercial operations from the airport would be initiated.
