Jack Carty is a musician and songwriter from Bellingen, NSW, Australia. Currently residing in Sydney, NSW Australia.[2]

Carty has released 2 albums (2011's "One Thousand Origami Birds" and 2012's "Break Your Own Heart") and 2 E.P's (2010's "Wine & Consequence" and 2013's "The Predictable Crisis of Modern Life") through Sydney based independent record label "Gigpiglet Recordings" distributed in Australia and New Zealand through Inertia Music Pty Ltd.[3]

Though none of his releases to date have achieved a high level of commercial success, they have received critical acclaim in his home country of Australia from national press including: The Australian,[4] The Weekend Australian[5] and The Sydney Morning Herald,[6] and Arts and Entertainment websites including: TheMusic.com.au,[7] TheAUReview,[8] Timber & Steel,[9] Fasterlouder,[10] Beat,[11] and MusicFeeds.[12]

Carty has toured consistently throughout Australia, the United States of America and Canada appearing at festivals such as: South By South West (SXSW),[13] Canadian Music Week (CMW),[14] Woodford Folk Festival,[15] Queenscliff Music Festival (QMF),[16] and Mullum Music Festival,[17] supporting artists including: Josh Pyke,[18] Justin Townes-Earle,[19] Matt Corby,[20] Katie Noonan,[21] Robert Ellis,[19] Ingrid Michaelson[22] and Joshua Radin[23] and completing his own headline tours (the most recent being in August/September/October 2013 launching "The Predictable Crisis of Modern Life" E.P.[24]

In 2010 Carty won "Acoustic Singer-Songwriter of the Year at the National MusicOZ Awards"[25]
