Ignatas Konovalovas (born 8 December 1985 in Panevėžys) is a Lithuanian road bicycle racer for UCI WorldTeam team FDJ,

Early life

Konovalovas was born in Panevėžys, the son of Laima Zilporytė, Olympian cyclist, and Valerijus Konovalovas, a cyclist coach. He has a sister, Irma, who is eight years younger than him.[1]

Professional career

Konovalovas finished third in the European Junior Team Pursuit Championships in 2003, the European Under-23 Team Pursuit Championships in 2007 and second in the European Under-23 Road Race Championships in 2008. In 2009, Konovalovas won the final time trial of the 2009 Giro d'Italia. He won the Lithuanian time trial championship five times (2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013).

Konovalovas left the Movistar Team at the end of the 2012 season, and joined the MTN–Qhubeka squad for the 2013 season.[2] After spending 2015 riding for Team Marseille 13 KTM in August 2015 it was announced that Konovalovas would rejoin the UCI World Tour ranks by joining FDJ in 2016.[3]

Konovalovas signed with World Tour team FDJ for the 2016 season.[4]
