Helion Venture Partners
Helion Ventures Partners is an Indian focused venture capital firm based in Mauritius.[1]
Created in 2006,[2] Helion was founded by Rahul Chandra, Ashish Gupta, Kanwaljit Singh[2] and Sanjeev Aggarwal.[3] The firm focuses on technology startups in the early to middle stages.[3] According to The Economic Times, in 2012 Helion was India's "largest domestic venture capital firm".[4]
The company has created four funds: a $140 million fund in 2006,[5] a $210 million fund in 2008,[5] a $255 million fund in 2012,[1] and a $300 million fund in 2015.[6] Although Helion is focused primarily on technology companies, it has also funded companies in the environmental technology, education, financial services, and health care sectors.[5]
By January 2015, Helion had cashed out of three companies it had invested in.[5] In 2010, MakeMyTrip had an initial public offering.[5] In 2013, Naspers bought Redbus.in, and Moody's Investors Service bought Amba Research.[5]
