Greg McMahon is the current special teams coordinator for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League.[1]
A native of Rantoul, Illinois, McMahon was a defensive back for Eastern Illinois, graduating in 1982. Saints head coach Sean Payton quarterbacked the Eastern Illinois team in the early 1980s.
McMahon spent 13 seasons (1992-2004) as an assistant coach at University of Illinois and one at East Carolina before coming to the NFL. Prior to that he coached at Valdosta State, Southern Illinois, Minnesota and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
