Gordon Hunt (musician)
Childhood
As a young child, Gordon Hunt was taken regularly to recitals and concerts by his parents, one of them a notable pianist, Jean Anderson (ABRSM). After going to a number of these performances, Gordon Hunt then decided on becoming an oboist. According to his mother and his teachers reports, Gordon was finding the oboe hard yet he was a natural at a young age. Apparently, he wondered into his parents bedroom one day and said that he did not want to learn the oboe any more as it was too hard. His mother and father looked at each other and both unanimously agreed that that would not be possible-they told him not to give up instead. If Gordon Hunt hadn't such wise parents, the Gordon Hunt we all know and love in the musical world would not be here today as an oboist. Later on in childhood, Gordon thrived in many musical aspects.
