George Wienbarg III

George Wienbarg III (b. November 16, 1950 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, United States) is an American journalist, actor^[1] and entrepreneur. As a journalist he has been a prolific correspondant for the Christian Post.^[2] He is named for his paternal uncle George J Wienbarg Jr. who died in a car accident in 1947 at the age of 28 .^[3]

As an actor he has appeared in the films "Far Rockaway" (2011)^[4] and "79 Parts" (2016), both directed by Ari Taub.^[5] As an entrepreneur he first marketed the discarded original Hollywood sign itself in collectible pieces with Hank Berger^[6] then trademarked the Hollywood sign for use as the logo in a line of clothing he created with designer Viola Park^[7] later licensing it from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

A descendant of Buffalo Bill Cody, he made a documentary with David Capurso for the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming about his famous relative and Cody's then 106 year old niece, Alice Frederici Reneau ( 1901 - 2006),^[8] Wienbarg's late aunt.^[9][10]

At the Christian Post, Wienbarg, reported on many topics^[11][12] some of which caused controversy^[13] including during the Amanda Knox catharsis.^[14][15]
