Fusion Magnetite Project
Eyre Iron Pty Ltd proposes to develop an open pit magnetite mine located in the Koppio Hills in Lower Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. The Fusion Magnetite Project also includes a processing plant site adjacent to the mine site and an underground magnetite slurry and water pipeline corridor from the processing plant to a proposed deepwater export port (Port Spencer, Eyre Peninsula).[1]
Responsible parties
Eyre Iron Pty Ltd is the management company for the Eyre Peninsula Joint Venture (EPJV) between partners Centrex Metals Ltd and Wugang Australian Resources Investment Pty Ltd (WARI). Wugang is a 100% owned subsidiary of Wuhan Iron & Steel (Group) co. (“WISCO”), China’s third largest steel producer. Centrex (ASX code CXM) was incorporated on the 23rd of March 2001 and is an emerging iron ore producer holding a range of exploration licenses for the southern Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.[2]
